Sun, salsa, and lots of paragliding. Our round trip through Latin America for adventure seekers and sun lovers!
Traveling and paragliding in Colombia is a dream for paraglider pilots.
The legendary Cauca Valley in Colombia is a must-visit destination on the bucket list of many paragliding pilots around the world. Its lush tropical landscapes, picturesque villages, and exceptionally reliable flying conditions guarantee a truly outstanding flying experience – right in the middle of the European winter in January.
What many people don’t realize is that Colombia offers us paragliding pilots far more than the world-famous Roldanillo. On our journey from Cali to Medellín, we explore one of the most diverse flying regions in South America. We begin in the flat Cauca Valley, where vast sugarcane fields stretch across the landscape, and follow the valley north into the gently rolling hills of the Eje Cafetero, Colombia’s famous coffee region. Here, waterfalls sparkle between coffee plantations in the tropical sun, and we soar along steep cliffs that drop into deep green canyons.
The trip also takes us to the historic capital Santa Fe de Antioquia, a colonial gem with whitewashed houses and cobblestone streets that tell stories of a bygone era. From here, breathtaking flying opportunities await, with launch sites offering panoramic views over valleys and mountain ranges that you won’t soon forget.
At the end of our adventure, Medellín awaits – a vibrant metropolis that has transformed itself and is now considered one of the most creative and dynamic cities in Latin America. Between flights, you can enjoy the colorful city life: innovative architecture, a lively nightlife, and a warmth and hospitality that truly stay with you.
Your guides on this journey are our flight instructors Sven Albert and Ueli Neuenschwander who will share their extensive knowledge of Colombian thermals, local weather patterns, and the unique aspects of flying in tropical latitudes.
