Team Trip 2026

With the team in Portugal

Our team trip this year took us to Portugal. More precisely, along the wild and impressive Algarve.

The Algarve showed us its most beautiful side: rugged cliffs, endless beaches, roaring surf, and sweeping views over the Atlantic. The interplay between the vibrant spring colours and the wild coastal landscape was especially impressive. Flowers were blooming everywhere among the rocks, creating a picturesque play of colours.

Of course, the culinary experience was not to be missed. Fresh fish straight from the sea, Brazilian churrasco, and cosy evenings at long tables made the trip a gastronomic highlight as well. Portugal impressed us not only with its landscapes, but also with its cuisine.

The Team

Travelling with a total of 22 independent-minded people might sound like a challenge at first. However, the week felt much more like a holiday with good friends. Our group was a fun mix of flight instructors, trainees, and launch directors; everyone brought their own personality, and that was exactly what made the trip so good.

Whether at breakfast, while waiting for better conditions, or over dinner together, the atmosphere was relaxed and in flow. This trip showed once again: we are one big, very cool team!

The weather during the trip

Meteorologically, it was challenging. The forecasts changed almost daily and did not always make planning easy. Often, the forecasts looked more difficult than things actually turned out to be in the end. A heartfelt thank you here to everyone for all the great ideas, decisions, and excellent organisation within the team!

In the end, we were rewarded with surprisingly varied conditions: from calm soaring along the coast in laminar airflow to strong thermals inland, everything was included. This variety made the flying days exciting.

The Highlights from the trip

The highlights of this trip can hardly be reduced to individual moments. Nevertheless, a few experiences will remain particularly memorable. First and foremost, of course, the team itself. The feeling of flow and the great interplay between the different personalities was simply fantastic!

Another source of many laughs was the legendary “arrest” of Dani Martinez at the traffic light after running a red light, a moment that will probably provide material for stories for a long time to come.

A trip full of experiences, good vibes, and unforgettable memories. We will definitely be back; a trip in spring 2027 is already being planned!
