An adventure-filled paragliding trip with impressive landscapes and unforgettable flights lies behind us!
With a great, cheerful group we set off for Albania – a country that is still considered a real insider tip for paragliding pilots.
In total, we flew in three different areas, each with its very own character. Sometimes in the mountains, sometimes over wide valleys – but the undisputed highlight was coastal flying in Dhermi. With a view of the deep blue Ionian Sea, we took off from a spot directly above the beautiful beaches. The updraft was consistent, the conditions perfect – and the flights simply impressive. Also worth mentioning were the many Aperol Spritz that completed the beach holiday feeling.
The road conditions in Albania were quite adventurous. Our cars struggled with potholes, dusty tracks, and not entirely clear traffic rules. But of course, that was also part of the experience – a bit of off-road charm that completed the adventure.
Culinarily, the trip was a delight: fresh fish, crisp salads, flavorful meat dishes, and of course plenty of good drinks and lovely evenings with a lively atmosphere.
The last evening in Tirana, the capital of Albania, revealed a city full of contrasts: between old concrete buildings, modern cafés, and street art, one finds an Albania in transition. The evening we spent together there – with good food, a very lively atmosphere, and many stories to take home – was a wonderful conclusion to a great trip.
Conclusion: Albania absolutely surprised us as a flying destination – wild, warm-hearted, authentic, and diverse in terms of flying. We’ll be back in 2026!
