For me, paragliding is one of the most elegant and fascinating ways to get back down from a mountain.
For more than 20 years, I have been passionately active in the mountains, on high-alpine tours, climbing, and on long hikes. Over time, however, one thing began to bother me more and more: the descent. After an intense day in the mountains, I found the long walk down exhausting and uninspiring.
That’s how I got into paragliding. At first, it was simply an effortless and beautiful way to get back down to the valley. But soon, it became much more than that. Today, it’s not just the glide that fascinates me, but also the more athletic challenges: cross-country flying, learning new maneuvers, reading the weather, making decisions, and constantly improving.
What fascinates me each time is the bird’s-eye view — whether high in the mountains, along steep rock faces, or over the sea along the coast. For a moment, the whole world grows quiet, and everything is reduced to the wind, the thermals, and the freedom that surrounds us.
