Basti Becker

Launch assistant from day one

I started paragliding 25 years ago together with Ueli Neuenschwander. Back then, we still had to find our own way through the air — there was no structured training like there is today.

That very raw, unfiltered beginning made the adventure all the greater and sustainably shaped my personal flying style. To this day, I love playing with the wing in the wind and the pure joy of movement in the air.

When I’m not flying, I love to cook and eat. I find the physical balance I need at the bouldering gym — focused climbing helps me switch off especially on rainy days and recharge my batteries..

I’ve been part of paraworld.ch as a launch supervisor from the very beginning. I love working outdoors at the takeoff site, right in the middle of the action, and I passionately pass on the knowledge I’ve gathered to our students.

For me, flying means freedom, a connection to nature, and the joy of learning something new every day — and that’s exactly what I want to share.
